George III sterling silver oval cake basket with swing handle, London, 1800-1801, by famous silversmiths Robert & David Hennell. This basket is supported on an oval pedestal foot and has reeded decoration on the rims and handle, as well as a band of floral engraving. It is hallmarked with a full set of marks on the inside of the rim and with the lion passant and maker's stamps only on the handle. Excellent condition, no monogram, or repairs. Size: 14.25" length x 9.5" depth x 11" height.

Georgian sterling silver mug by Peter and William Bateman, London, 1808; maker's mark overstruck by that of George Gray. The Batemans were one of the most famous families of English silversmiths in the 18th and early 19th centuries. A fabulous large-sized American water pitcher with a beaded, everted spout and adorned with bands of crisp acanthus decoration applied to the body and circular base. The maker's stamp, B. GARDINER NEW YORK, appears in two arched and opposing, serrated rectangles on the underside of the base...

Scottish three-piece sterling silver tea service, Edinburgh. 1824-25. Maker's mark CB, for Charles Bendy, known for his decanter labels, ladles and tea pots. Weight: 49.8 troy ounces. A rare set of compressed globular form resting on round, stepped pedestal bases. The gadrooned bodies are accented with decorative acanthus rims and handles, and the open sugar bowl and milk jug retain an original gilt wash to their interiors. No monograms or erasures. No dents or dings...

Pair English George III knife boxes in Hepplewhite style. Circa 1800. Each box veneered in figured mahogany with boxwood stringing and serpentine shaped fronts. The sloping hinged lids are adorned with marquetry ovals depicting a dove on an olive branch on a hardwood ground. A beautiful Large Staffordshire blue transfer ware well and tree platter made by Clews circa 1825. The platter features a scenic view of travelers in a landscape with ruins and a floral border. Measuring an impressive 21 inches by 16.5 inches the condition is excellent but for a minor chip that was successfully reattached (see picture) . It is amazing that there are virtually no knife marks or signs of use for a piece nearly 200 years old...

A Georgian 12-1/8" sterling silver stuffing or dressing spoon circa 1809. This fine antique serving item is fully hallmarked for London, England 1809-10 and it is in the Fiddle pattern. Made by William Eley, William Fearn & William Chawner (registered 1808), one of the most notable families of English spoon makers. Examples with a largish bowl like this are great serving spoons for many occasions. This spoon weighs 142 grams and it has a family crest with a unicorn and the phrase "ORA ET LABORA"...

Two silver King's Pattern spoons. We acquired these with a larger set (which we are offering separately) some years ago. We aren't calling these sterling as one is not marked and one has worn marks not easily made out (on the back appears to be a worn head mark and very small initials P and Q flanking a worn device and on the front is an indiscernable mark above the bowl.)
