Circa mid-century, this heavy chunky modernist onyx ring was produced by Antonio Pineda.

It's a rarely seen design, wide, solid, and absolutely killer, with inlaid onyx in a 970 silver setting.

Measures a 6 on a ring sizer. The side is quite wide, so may fit a little more snug than that...

William Spratling signed chain necklace is an early first phase masterpiece design. The necklace has a width of one inch wide and 5mm thick. This beauty is fluid in it's motion with a length of 17.25 inches long. The weight is 304 grams of almost pure silver which is visual as a very white silver. The ridge down the center of the chain adds great depth and dimension. . When worn everyone around you will recognize that this is a very special necklace and not an ordinary chain...

This Antonio Pineda necklace is composed of eleven diamond shaped pyramidal onyx stones which are framed by silver "X" links. The clasp is a tongue in box which is a silver pyramidal shape as well. It's a design which is rarely seen, and a superb modernist piece which is fully articulated and lays perfectly on the neck. It's difficult to measure, so I've shown it against a ruler. I would say it fits more like a choker necklace and is meant to be worn higher on the neck...

One of the rarest, in my experience, bracelets by Margot de Taxco out of her, influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement, hand-hammered and oxidized line of jewelry, the Quetzalcoatl mirrored on this clamper's opposing wings is fierce and awe-inspiring. Monumental in its presence, the bracelet is an ode to Mexico's rich cultural history and definitely not a piece for the ... faint-of-heart. I am thrilled I was lucky enough to find it and am more than proud to be presenting it here...

Mid-century mod "peas-in-a-pod" Mexican silver dangle earrings, this set is signed by Sigi Pineda and it's an iconic creation for the renowned Taxco modernist. I think Sigi was at his best when he worked with designs that contrasted niello-ed surfaces with brushed silver pearls. There is nothing classier than the marriage of black and gleaming sterling yet the textured beads add a dimension that enriches the earrings' visual impact...

These matching Tobias cuffs were purchased together and have stayed together through time so I am continuing the tradition here with presenting them as a pair. Both pre-1948 cuffs are signed Tobias and are 2 7/8in. tall. Each weigh 76 grams and 79.5 grams respectively. There is a one inch gap and they are sizable. The Repousse is deep and gorgeous producing an effect of dimension that is breathtaking. The fashion statement at the time was to wear cuffs such as these together...

A superb, handmade, sterling bracelet featuring 4 rows of circular links with hanging tubes that all move by Mexican silversmith Teresa Camino. Her work was represented in the William Spratling Maestro De Plata exhibit and can be found on page 65 of the exhibit catalogue. She was the winner of numerous awards in Mexico and the U.S. before her death in 2003. Her work is still being produced by Albino Guitierrez, her long time silversmith and collaborator. However, this bracelet was made by Teres...

Pedro Castillo was a maestro for William Spratling at Taller de Las Delicias. He also was a maestro for Hector Aguilar until he opened his own shop around 1940. His work is always quality and this bracelet with glyphs shows that. The turquoise stones have warmed with time on this treasure. The panels are solid silver and the raised glyph elements are applied giving depth as well as the niello background. Hallmarked 925 for silver content. 1 5/8th inches tall 6 5/8th inches long Weight ...

Spratling uses one single rod of thick sterling silver to form this elegant "safety pin". Worked by hand, the detailed swan's head is formed, continuing down to the double looped turn, ending with the sleek, tapered point. Measuring 3 3/4 inches long and 1/2" wide the piece is in beautiful condition. The ingenious design allows for excellent tension in opening and closing the pin point. The thickness of the rod is most suitable for looser weaved fabric. Using one single piece of metal is remini...

This is an old linear hallmarked Los Castillo necklace that was definitely designed by Margot. The silver is heavy repousse and the weight is 68 grams. The length is 15.75in. long and .75in. tall. This is a beautiful floral that lends itself wonderfully when you want to wear something not really big in size but packs a punch with design elements. What sets this set apart from the rest is it's condition. Due to age most pieces of this design are dented or have smashed repousse leaves and this set...

Zodiac jewelry is not uncommon in the field of vintage Mexican silver yet it is mostly bracelets (charm or link), pins and combination pin/pendants that one finds. Rings, and especially sculptural ones like the example at hand, are rare and I am thrilled to have discovered it! Applied on a round flat field, the kneeling figure of Aquarius faces the onlooker, water flowing out of the urn under her arm (I know Aquarius is supposed to be male but the more I look at this ring, the more I see a femal...
