The Heintz Art Metal Shop of Buffalo, New York made jewelry and decorative objects of patinated bronze with sterling overlay in cut out patterns. They were in business from 1906-1929 and although they did not sign their jewelry, their style is so distinctive it can easily be identified. This 2 1/4" by 1 1/4" pin is a fine example of the jewelry from this shop. It is in beautiful original condition and a wonderful piece of Arts & Crafts period jewelry.

Sometimes when hunting for great old Mexican Silver you run into a lesser known artist's treasure like this one I am listing today. The red poured glass bordered with beading is striking. Rare Vintage Georg Jensen Denmark sterling earrings no. 124 designed by Sigvard Bernadotte. Beautiful oval shaped dangles featuring a wrapped silver embellishment along the bottom. These are screw backs and measure 2" long and 1" wide. They are in fine vintage condition and signed as shown.

We are looking at a signed Los Castillo design # 472. The necklace is 1 1/8th inches tall and has a comfortable length of 17.5in. Because of the height of this piece the wearable length is 16.5in. I have never seen this link in the past and it is made with open backed repousse which was used in the beginnings of the Mexican Silver Renaissance. Wonderful old Mexican silver bracelet in bold design with large oval green stones, stamped "Silver Made In Mexico", the bottom part of Mexico not visible. It measures 7" long and 1 3/8" wide. Very substantial, the silver is heavy and the stones are large and raised high above the bezels. The clasp is a simple folding snap clasp that holds firmly. The design is very similar to the early works of both Spratling and Aguilar, and could have been crated by them or by a worker in their studios...

One of William Spratlings' most recognizable pieces is this Aztec figure pin with a large amethyst. Circa 1940, it is featured on page 39 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill. Measuring 1 1/2" long and 1 1/8" wide, most of the surface of the pieces is the large square cabachon amethyst which measures 1"long and 5/8" wide. It is in beautiful original condition with no chips or cracks in the stone. Signed for Willian Spratling as shown. A great piece.

A silver arrow shooting through the turquoise center of a starburst is quite a powerful design and in the hands of Antonio Pineda, it becomes a jewel to be enjoyed and lovingly bequeathed from generation to generation. I like the little game Antonio plays here - who wouldn't expect the arrow to shoot through a heart, right? After all, Eros and his bittersweet weapons are so familiar to all of us. But no - the arrow in our case shoots for the ... stars and the turquoise blue sky is its limit.....

Signed La Estrella Taxco 980 this lotus pectoral is an exceptional work. Several artists created the Lotus design. The Taller of La Estrella produced the most beautiful pectorals and they are rare. The shop was only in business in Taxco for around 2 years. Not much is known because they were not there long but everything I have found has been astounding. This lotus has broader sweeps with the pectoral wings and the S links are longer than other makers. The drop is 4 inches long and 5 in. across...

We find Fred Davis signed piece from time to time but this one is very special. Look at the underside of this treasure. You are seeing strong work marks from the hand making of this jewel. The silver is silky to touch. Huge stones are displayed with the center being 1.5in. tall. The two side stones are 1.25in. tall. Very comfortable feeling at approximately 17in. wearable length. Magnificent, rare sterling necklace by Margot De Taxco. A very beautiful heavy, wide sterling cuff with 8 ribs by Frank Patania Sr. A subtle and notable touch are the smooth curved terminals. This bracelet measures 6" around in the inside plus and additional 1 1/2" opening. It is 2 1/2" wide and weighs a very sturdy 113 grams. It is in fine original condition and signed as shown. A hand engraved sterling silver hinged bangle bracelet from the 1930s. It measures 2-3/8" x 2-1/8" across the interior, and it is 1/2" wide.
