A sterling propelling extending pencil with a garnet top from the 1900 era. Worn on a watch fob or on a chatelaine, this sliding pencil was invented by Samuel Mordan however this example isn't signed or marked. It features attractive hand engraving and the garnet top tests as genuine. It has a gold plated loop for wear on a chain, it extends from 1-3/4" to 2-3/8" and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

An S. Mordan & Co. sterling propelling extending pencil with an agate top from the 1900 era. This sliding pencil was invented by Samuel Mordan in the early 1800s and it features fine engine turning and embossing. It extends from 3" to 4-3/8", it is signed S. MORDAN 7 Co. SOLD No price info to protect the buyer's interests, please. Hefty 2.5 oz or 72 Grams on Postal Scale! Vintage Letter Opener marked "Birks Sterling" and 2 marks and a slated "1" in 3 cartouches. 10" long X 7/8" at end of handle which is quite ornate. Has been polished by previous owner, yet retains lots of very old dark patina in crevices when louped. Very Good Condition with minute normal lines sterling gets with age. SOLD, no price, no info please.
