Vintage Letter Opener marked "Birks Sterling" and 2 marks and a slated "1" in 3 cartouches. 10" long X 7/8" at end of handle which is quite ornate. Has been polished by previous owner, yet retains lots of very old dark patina in crevices when louped. Very Good Condition with minute normal lines sterling gets with age. Offered for sale is a rare, 19th century, apothecary, pharmacy hanging show globe that is dated 1891 on the inside of the collar. This hand-blown glass globe sports an interior that is painted red! This is a feature I have never before seen, and this globe may have been so colored as a "special option" for its original owner.

A late Victorian original gilt cast metal standup 11" desk or table thermometer complete with a cherub and fancy swing-out foot. It has a loop for hanging on a wall and the original mercury thermometer is intact and working fine. It is SIGNED B&H 3590 on the back, and it is in very good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor gilding loss and the loss of some of the silvering on the dial. This beautiful pharmacy display is in very nice, all-original condition including the lovely sculptured glass finial with stopper!

Offered is a complete Civil War Era traveling Doctor Medicine Case recently acquired from an estate in New Hampshire. The supple leather case houses 20 corked vials sporting vintage paper labels including some with partial contents. The condition is very good considering the age.
