Wedgwood's Black Basalt Medallion of Henry VI, and Henry V, both in relief; marked on verso, "Henry VI, Wedgwood," and "Henry V, Wedgwood." These pieces are authenticated as being of Mid-to-Late 19th Century manufacturer. Wonderful profiles of the Rulers. Oval, 2.25" (5.71 cm) long, just under 2" (5.08 cm) wide. A pottery vase by Richard Uhlemeyer, a German studio potter whose work had a significant influence on the mid-century artistic explosion of the 1950's-70's. In 1938, three years after opening his own workshop, he received his master’s designation in pottery. He experimented with the development of differentiated and complicated glazes. Uhlemeyer died in 1954 and the workshop closed in 1961.

Rare, fine porcelain Vase from East Germany, made in what was formerly known as "behind the Iron Curtain." Feines Porzellan von der Republik. This wonderful vase in very fine, snow white porcelain is richly hand-gilded, front and back, in orientalist style flowers, perhaps the species "fuschia." Tiny vermillion enamel dots, or "buds" are delicately scattered within the pattern. The opening and base are both decorated with bands of gilding.
