Unusual early Hampshire leaf bowl in a dead matte experimental thinly applied green/blue glaze with finely applied high relief leaves. Much of the clay shows through the glaze to form a pleasing effect. The top rim feels rough to the touch but is original to the piece with the glaze undisturbed. Inscribed with the Hampshire Pottery signed mark on the bottom with a circled M. Measures 6 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" tall.

Rare and early Pewabic squat vase covered in matte green glaze. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Stamped Pewabic/Detroit and measuring 5" x 6 1/2". The pot is hand thrown and shows ridges encircling the vase from the base ring up to the widest portion. As a guide to Pewabic's green glaze the book "The Ceramics of William H. Grueby" by Susan J. Montgomery states that in the early parts of the 20th century as Grueby pottery was winning praise and awards for their wares, "Ot... Click for details

A fine and beautiful hand painted plate from the Handel factory. It depicts a great horned owl flying over the forest at night in search of prey. The colors are burnt orange with browns. The owl is beautifully painted. I would love to see a Handel lamp with this scene. It is signed "Handel. 4083F", and artists signed "LOEHNER" (Gustave Loehner). The plate measures 9 1/2 inches across and 1 1/4 inches in height. Note: The picture shows a camera flashback at the top center of the plate.

Outstanding Hampshire pottery gourd shaped arts & crafts vase in 3 colors. The outside is a dead matte green with a light striation pattern with white/yellow tips at the top of the vase. The interior is a matte pink to simulate melon rind. The vase measures 5 1/2 inches high and 6 1/2 wide. I find only one pinpoint glaze pop to the body of the vase. Also minimal light crazing to the interior rim and bottom. Signed Hampshire and truly one of a kind from this great arts and crafts period mak... Click for details

Early Dedham pottery, crackle-ware plate with a great blue craquelle glaze. Signed on the back with a single raised rabbit mark which had limited use on plates starting in 1895 making this one of the earlier Rabbit plates. This style was only used early on, for a few years, as it was found that many pieces cracked in the molds. In good condition, no damage at all. Size is 8 5/8” in diameter. By the way, these rabbits have two ears. Nice older piece of Dedham.
