I love these little mud figures and particularly like this one because it is a woman. It has the beautiful glazes in green, yellow and aubergine and depicts a serene figure in a seated position, her robe puddling around her feet. CHINA stamped in the clay inside the figure. She stands almost 4" high.

A fine Chinese famille rose tea caddy from the 1700s. The hat shaped lid has a very nice fruit form finial as the old ones often do. The vessel itself has a shoulder conforming well with the shape of the lid. This is the form copied by Meissen in the 18th century for their tea caddies. Rare grisaille color decorations very spartan and detailed, pure 18th century!
