This rare 7" Doulton Lambeth jug was made to celebrate the meeting of the Australian States in January 1886 after the Federal Council of Australia Act was passed by the British parliament in 1885. It has a miner and a sheep shearer surrounded by a wreath in front. Fine Royal Doulton "Gaffers" bowl measuring 8" wide by 4" tall. The bow produced by Doulton in the early 1920's is decorated all over in bucolic country scenes with the gaffer with cane at the center of the bowl fronting a sweet stone English home. The bowl is in excellent condition with no damage.

The most feminine and drop-dead beautiful piece of Majolica I've ever owned, this antique plate features blue, white and dusky rose fans, cherry blossoms, butterflies and a dragonfly against a happy yellow basketweave pattern edged with bamboo. It's been a star of my personal collection for at least 15 years and, now that I'm simplifying, the time has come for someone else to love it as I have. This comical series signed by Bruce Bairnsfather was made as "A Souvenir of the Great War" by Grimwades (early Royal Winton). 'MADE BY THE GIRLS OF STAFFORDSHIRE DURING THE WINTER OF 1917 WHEN THE BOYS WERE IN THE TRENCHES FIGHTING FOR LIBERTY AND CIVILIZATION.'
