This vase is a fantastic example of the Blue Lustre glass produced by Durand, circa 1920's. Fresh from an local estate this piece was owned by a group of nuns since it was purchased new to decorate their convent. The vase,form number 1714, is in excellent condition and measures 7 1/2 in High by 2 3/4 in Diameter. Polished pontil and Fire polished rim. A --- rare American Brilliant Period cut fruit or ""orange"" bowl in a lively form and with the classic daisy & button --- pattern. The entire surface is covered with the pattern leaving only the clear foot-ring. This is a pattern often found in early pattern glass. Not often found in cut glass. Nice sharp & deep cuts.
