Modernist bowl by seminal designer Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso, circa 1950s. In clear glass with amber/orange inclusions. The surface is iridized, and shows subtle shades of purples and greens. The same bowl in blue is shown on p. 57 of Marc Heiremans' book "Dino Martens: Muranese Glass Designer." The bear still bears a paper label with a hand written model number on the base. Figural Swan shaped Murano Glass accent dish, manufactured by Fratelli Toso in the late 1950’s as part of his “Starry Night” series. The turquoise color layer of glass on the inside is infused with glittering aventurine swirl patterns which add beautiful sparkle and the bowl displays beautifully. Lovely medium sized egg timer in olive green glass by Venini, circa 1950s. The piece is made of a single piece of glass, and is extremely well balanced. Unsigned, but very well documented. The piece an indented polished pontil and flat polished rim on one side, and a permanent cork stopper surrounded by a flat polished rim on the other. A dramatic sommerso vase consisting of three layers of glass: clear cased over a layer of yellow/green vaseline, and an interior core of cobalt blue. The clear glass is pulled across and above one side to dramatic effect. The vase towers to almost 14" in height, and is in excellent condition. Unsigned, but most probably from the 1950s. A lively vase by AVEM, circa 1950s. The purple interior beautifully offsets the busy exterior, which is crammed with white zanfirico, twisted multi colored filigrana, sparkling gold aventurine and silver mica flakes. The vase stands just over 7" tall and has a slightly flattened form. It is in excellent condition. Unsigned but very well documented. An unusually well executed vintage pair of large, solid glass figurines depicting a guitar playing man and a dancing woman. The arms and face are clear glass, while the torsos, guitar and hair are infused with gold. The figurine's lower portions are clear fading to purple. The woman's billowing dress is further decorated with controlled bubbles. Both figurines arms and legs are decorated with amber colored "frills." Each stands upon a clear base.
