19th Century Venetian Vase, attributed Salviati Dott. Antonio, crystal clear with numerous thin sparkling threads of aventurine (from pure copper) swirling from base to mouth in mezza filigrana pattern, and ending in a blue band at the vase opening. Applied blue rigaree at the neck and shoulder. The ribbed texture and rope like gilding is called “Cordonato D’ Oro” and the technique was first exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1950. Monumental post-modern sculptural bowl by Mario Bellini for Venini called Sogni Infranti, designed and produced in 1992. Very few examples of this complex design were ever produced. The piece consists of a heavy, clear iridized bowl holding snippets of Venini's famous techniques and designs such as a bit of a patchwork vase.
