Wonderful bronze tazza of hunting scene by Jules Moigniez, French 1835-1894. Approximately 10 1/2" high and 11 1/2" wide at widest point. Signed on the bottom of the fox, J. Moigniez. Rare Speltor cast, circa 1850-1880 after the French Animalier Sculptor P.J. Mene, very fine detail showing a dog and bitch playing with a tortoise. Constructed in cast spelter that has been bronzed over to give the effect of Bronze. The casting is of very fine quality, they stand 9.5cm high and are 16cm long. There is a small dent in one tail which gives it a slight kink otherwise Superb.
