Offered here is a French sterling patch box or pill box. It is simple in design and is only decorated with a coat of arms on the lid. The coat of arms has a lion and fler d'lis, and is inscribed "anima et fide". The box has a mark on the bottom and the lid, and it may be the French Mercury mark, which means it was made for export, but it is very difficult to make out. This is a fine and heavy sterling silver coffee and tea service by Schofield Co. of Baltimore dating to around the middle of the 20th century. Very classic form and beautifully made...very solid. Five pieces in all, include the coffeepot, teapot, sugar, creamer and waste bowl. The coffee and tea have the ivory in the handles.
