A very pretty French beaded, tambour embroidered purse in lovely condition. The pictures speak for themselves. The purse has a mother of pearl frame and a loop in loop chain which adds 6 inches to this 6 inch x 4 3/4 inches purse.

Streamlined and dramatic Broken Star quilt was made in the 1880's but is strikingly contemporary in appearance. Exquisitely quilted. Some might prefer it laundered but by no means is it a must. Measures 78" square. Pennsylvania origin. Can't imagine a better quilt to decorate for Christmas.

Silk bookmark Home Sweet Home

This is a 19th century silk Stevensgraph type bookmark. Made in Paterson, NJ by Warner Mfg. co. It shows a bucolic scene and the music and words to the song Home Sweet Home. There are 2 bee skeeps outside the house and a man sitting with his head on his chin. The condition is excellent and this silk Stevensgraph type bookmark measures 12" including the tassel.

Embroidered Alphabet & Presidents Quilt: 1910; Illinois

This embroidered quilt is exceptional for several features. Rarely does one find an alphabet quilt and whimsically set on this quilt are all 26 letters. It is also unusual to have the Presidents of the United States depicted on a quilt. What is mysterious about this rendition is that it is dated 1910 but does not include William Howard Taft who was in office at that time. Could this have been a statement of opposition? Streak of Lightning Quilt: Circa 1870; New York

This is the best example of the Bricks or Streak of Lightning pattern that I have seen. Pristine, unwashed condition. Comprised of a library of late 19th century fabrics. Each block measures 1" x 1 3/4" with larger rectangles creating a border. New York State origin; circa 1870. Measures 80" x 82". A gem in terms of the variety and selection of fabrics as well as the overall impact of the pattern.

Umbrellas Quilt: Circa 1930

This pristine, unwashed Umbrellas Quilt was made by the same hand as Item # 302941. They are finished with different color sashing and backing but have many of the same fabrics in the actual umbrellas. The backing of this is blue cotton sateen. Measures 78" x 88". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1930.

Exquisitely embroidered border frames this delicately detailed Victorian Crazy Quilt. Wonderful woman's portrait in the center block has been stabilized with conservator's netting as is one other block. Everything else seems to be in perfect condition. Several birds; shamrock and horseshoe; butterfly, fans and flowers are among the beautifully embroidered details. Backing is cotton sateen. Measures 30 1/2" x 54". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1890.
