Sexy and shimmery silver mesh purse in excellent condition. The frame has a very fine floral and leaf motif on one side; the other side has a discreet monogram - so this must have been a special purse to someone. Whiting & Davis Dresden mesh purse in muted pastel colors of purple, green and blue abstract flowers. These cover the mesh and give a very nouveau look. Measuring 5x6 inches , there are no holes and everything is attached. The very nice link chain adds about 5.5 inches. The ruffle fringe which is also intact makes this Dresden purse somewhat different. The lining is in very good condition - clean, no tears or holes but detached from the frame in a few places - does not detract or make the purse... Click for details

Hand made in France, this gorgeous black beaded purse is in excellent condition. No holes, stains or missing beads. Lining is completely in tact. The purse is 6.5" across the top and 9.5" across the bottom. With strap it's 9.5 inches from top to bottom. It's dressy but not so much that it wouldn't work with a pair of jeans. Really nice and versatile purse.

Though not marked it is very reminiscent of the W&D bags. This cathedral shaped framed bag has a 6"swivel mesh handle that is 6" long. The purse body measures 7" from clasp to center of bottom mesh. The frame is 3" wide at the hinge. Only defect is that there is one break at the hinge from the mesh on one side which is expected for a purse this age and could be mended if desired but is certainly not necessary. Very pretty design on both sides of the frame and the ball clasp is also in excellent ... Click for details

This Whiting & Davis purse is in the beadlite design because it has a raised metal dot in the center of the link, creating a 3-D look. It enables the mesh to emulate the look of a beaded bag. The frame is elaborate and has some mesh work in it. Colors are green, orange, purple and yellow enamel. The W&D tag is inside the purse. Two detached links under one hinge and one under the other. Some minor enamel loss on one side which I could only see under a loupe. Very pretty and stylish. I cleaned of... Click for details

Stella Rubin Antique Quilts and Decorative Arts

SOLD
This is a most unusual color combination for the Mariner's Compass pattern. The orange fabric is polished cotton. The quilt is made even more bold by the strong border, the likes of which I've never seen. The entire quilt is done by applique, another unusual aspect as more often, the mariner's compass is pieced. Unwashed condition. Circa 1920; Reading, Pennsylvania origin. Measures 84" x 85".

This is a crisp, unwashed version of Hearts and Gizzards. Well pieced and quilted. Nicely detailed four patches in the inner borders. The dark spot on the lower right outer border is not a stain; it is the date 1934 done in white embroidery (visible in thumbnail). Small discoloration visible in the lower middle that would probably be removed with a wash. Pennsylvania origin; measures 79" x 81".

I don't know a name for this pattern but it looks like converging arrows. Well quilted with wreaths in the white blocks. Slight fraying to part of the binding but the body of the quilt is in excellent condition. Circa 1890; 68" x 80".
