Here we have a wonderful 19th century needlepoint mat. Hand worked in a lively and colorful paisley motif on a green ground, it is attached to a linen backing and trimmed with ribbon. The backing is somewhat soiled and frayed, but not objectionably so. The needlepoint is in fine condition but would benefit from reblocking. It measures approximately 18" by 12".

This complex geometric Diamond in Squares quilt makes a terrific graphic statement. Great size (42" x 67") makes it a particularly desirable wall hanging in either direction. Solid color fabrics; different color in one corner is original. Pristine, unwashed condition. Maine origin; circa 1900.

Mennonite Courthouse Steps Log Cabin quilt done in an a subdued and sophisticated color palette. Light color is more of a light khaki color than may appear on the screen. Randomly placed maroon and pink centers add a bit of liveliness. Medium weight wools. Front is in excellent condition; back has some bits of damage. Measures 66" x 77"; Pennsylvania Mennonite. Circa 1890.

Offered here is a charming, small 19th century needlepoint picture of a young boy with his sheep. The picture is enclosed in the original silver gilt frame, original old wavy glass, and closed up with small square nails. The picture measures 11" by 10.5" in the frame. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. The frame shows some wear in places (which I find all the more beautiful)and the glass has some lovely flaws that are merely typical of old glass. A precious, early piece.

This is the most intense version of a Wild Goose Chase quilt that I have seen. Both the color and placement of blocks make this quilt an eye dazzler. Solid color indigo on white combined with abutting the blocks makes for the creating of several different ways to see the patterns. Professionally laundered; pristine condition. Measures 68" x 70"; circa 1900.

This exceptional crib quilt combines Log Cabin; Chinese Coins and Crazy Quilt patterns into a very cohesive whole. Centers of the Log Cabin blocks are hand painted, in the tradition of Victorian Crazy Quilts. Primarily silks which accounts for the shattering of the fabric in four places. Circa 1890; Pennsylvania origin. Measures 37 1/2" x 44".

Diamonds Doll Quilt is a terrific pattern that is nicely hand quilted. Colors are warmly mellowed. Shows overall wear but genuine and pleasing nonetheless. Exhibited at the DAR Museum show of small quilts held about 1990. Measures 20" x 21"; circa 1860.
