Elegant wool crazy quilt divided into four by four blocks. The center of each is a velvet block surrounded by fine wool fabrics that date from the 1870's to the 1890's. The patches are embellished with a variety of embroidery stitches. The back is especially unusual in that it is pieced in bars that are tied as well as quilted. Measures 77" x 78 1/2".Excellent condition; Pennsylvania origin.
