Though not marked it is very reminiscent of the W&D bags. This cathedral shaped framed bag has a 6"swivel mesh handle that is 6" long. The purse body measures 7" from clasp to center of bottom mesh. The frame is 3" wide at the hinge. Only defect is that there is one break at the hinge from the mesh on one side which is expected for a purse this age and could be mended if desired but is certainly not necessary. This Whiting & Davis purse is in the beadlite design because it has a raised metal dot in the center of the link, creating a 3-D look. It enables the mesh to emulate the look of a beaded bag. The frame is elaborate and has some mesh work in it. Colors are green, orange, purple and yellow enamel. The W&D tag is inside the purse. Two detached links under one hinge and one under the other. Lovely antique micro beaded purse with vibrant floral motif, featuring a filigree frame set with green cabochon stones. Blue tipped fringe and fine blue silk lining with change purse and mirror. Near perfect; just three small holes under one hinge and a tiny hole in the lining; the clasp is loose, but functional. Measures 12” from clasp to fringe by 7”.

Beautiful c 1890 Textured Open Work Button made into a Pendant by Mimi Dee for a client. This piece has 15 hand punched steel rivets which were used as early as the 1700s into the late 1800s. A 14K rolled gold bail hook was hand fabricated by Ms. Dee without altering the collectible integrity of this button. The middle rivet becomes the shank on the other side.

Utterly charming tiny velvet metal frame purse, circa 1850. There’s a panel of plum velvet on both sides; applied wirework hearts set with cut steel beads decorate the front. The handle is delicately woven wire; purple fabric lines the inside and there’s a clever locking pocket. Pursed is marked on the interior with a museum catalog number. Good condition; velvet is worn and pushed in. Measures 3 ¼” by 2 1/8”.

Stunning antique glass and cut steel microbeaded reticule in an unusual teardrop shape. Design features a central floral medallion, surrounded by an our floral ring, which is in turn surrounded by violets. Snake chain handle; beaded tassel; white silk lining. Very good condition: streak of dirt to one side of bag (pictured); tassel is missing a few strands; lining is soiled in spots. Measures 8 ¼” by 5 ¾” (tassel adds 2 ¼”).
