This adorable plastic clown pin is highlighted by tinted details. Shown on page 97 in Fun Jewelry by Nancy Schiffer. I don't know who made this one but 1930 is the correct date. Unsigned, it measures 3" tall and 1 1/2" wide.

This is an especially sweet pin, early for these, it's delicate construction enhanced by the use of mostly white tiles. It is in rather a snowflake shape, with a centerpiece of flowers, and when the light bounces off of the tiny white tiles it, indeed, looks like a snowflake. It is set in brass which has oxidized in some areas to a lovely burnished red color, and some to a deep black green. Old clasp and pin, in very good original condition. Haskell's various shaped glass beads in crisp white, red, and blue is great for warm weather dressing. This long rope necklace (54") and the matching wrap bracelet (7" around, 3/4" high) may have been designed in honor of the bicentenial in 1976. Each piece has the Miriam Haskell oval tag attached.
