These are rare antique Georgian amethyst earrings. They are designed with beautiful flat cut amethysts that have been finely faceted on the edges. The stones are set closed in the back and foiled beneath the stone to reflect the light. The result, is a subtle hue that is distinctive and lovely, found in early jewelry. Each stone is hand set in crimped collets, and it is this process that gives tiny gold details to the edges of the amethysts. The very bottom has a tiny gold knob, another detail f... This very rare gold pendant is Scottish, circa 1880. It is the only Scottish agate pendant in gold that I have ever sold as most forms of Scottish jewelry are brooches. So few pieces are rendered in gold, and fewer still in 18k. It has fine gold work and engraving and incorporates beautiful colored agates accented with pearls and rose diamonds. The central star motif was quite popular during this period of time and here it serves as the focal point of the pendant.... Click for details

This silver brooch, circa 1910 is designed and executed by Adolf Mayer, a listed Jugendstil silversmith. It is quite spectacular both in size and craftsmanship. It is a classical Mayer piece with his signature mix of color and medium. In this brooch, he utilizes ivory and lapis lazuli. Many of his brooches used carved ivory and here it creates an ornamental flower. The silver is finely hand wrought and hammered. It is bold and sculptural, measuring 3 inches in length including the drop x 2 1/4 ... Click for details

This antique moonstone ring is circa 1880. It is set with a finely carved moonstone head of a young woman. Moonstones, prized for their beautiful glow, are well represented in this ring. The stone illuminates as light passes though the stone and gives it an ethereal presence. Rings with carved moonstones of this period commonly had a Man in the Moon motif and have also been poorly reproduced. Finding this carving and in original, excellent condition is a pleasure. The rose gold is 9k and the sto... Click for details

Extraordinary gold Scottish brooch, circa 1830. So very lovely and rare to find this motif and rarer in gold. It is designed with a beautiful array of agates in mellow shades, each blending into the other to create a soft backdrop for the central motif. The flower is the national flower of Scotland, the thistle, rendered in amethyst and accented with a natural Tay pearl. The other, a bud, set in citrine. Both stones are closed and foiled in the back to reflect light. The brooch is set in 15k ... Click for details
