This Victorian 18K gold memorial ring is simple and well preserved. Under the crystal is plaited blond hair set in a bezel decorated with tiny gold beads. The ring bears 5 punchmarks: an illegible makers mark, 18, the anchor for Birmingham, an illegible date mark and the duty mark of Victoria's head. These latter duty marks were ceased in 1890. Because the date letter is so worn I can only date this from the shape of the cartouche which would make this from between 1839-1867. There is a partial ... Click for details

The front has finely cut rose diamonds simulating the pins of a harp. There are rubies, sapphires, and emeralds designed with a random, celestial placement on the body of the lyre. The 18k gold has a rich yellow color, and the "strings" a rose colored gold.
The reverse is as... Click for details

Antique moonstone necklaces are prized for the clarity and glorious sheen of blue and are easily distinguished from their modern counterparts. This gold necklace is circa 1900, and has well matched, gem quality cabachon stones. The gold content varies between 9k-12k gold. The design which is quite feminine, was very popular at the turn of the century. The details, like the tiny buttons of gold interspersed between the top row of stones, and the fine variation of chains, make this a lovely exampl... Click for details
