Great looking minimalist ebony and sterling earrings by American Modernist jeweler Ed Levin.C. 1950, these are screwbacks and hang 1 3/8" long. The ebony disk is 3/4" diameter. Signed LEVIN STERLING on the back of one of the disks in block letters. They are wonderful.

Sam Kramer is considered the most significant Modernist jeweler in the U.S. He opened his studio/shop in 1939 in Greenwich Village. Kramer's jewelry was inspired by Surrealist art and a medium for his own kind of expression. A beautiful handwrought sterling cuff by Modernist Frank Rebajes. His work is prolific in copper but sterling pieces are rare and this cuff is a tribute to his great talent. The cuff is one piece of heavy gauge sterling with three large repousse balls surrounded by radiating spokes. Circa 1950, it is in fine original condition. Frank Rebajes worked in NYC mostly in copper or silver plate and his sterling pieces are harder to find. The pendant measures 3 1/4" L x 1 3/4"W.
