A striking bold heavy handmade ring by 1960's modernist Erik de Kolb. Erik de Kolb had a store on Madison Ave New York City. His jewelry is rarely seen. This ring is a brillant design beautifully executed. It measures 1"W X 1"L X about 5/8" in depth. The ring is incredibly heavy weighing 32.2 grams. Excellent condition. The ring is about a size 8. Fabulous bold, strong design in this sterling pendant and matching earrings by American studio artist Henry Steig. Circa 1950, the pendant measures 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" at the widest point. It is one continues piece of silver including the bail and hangs on a sterling chain original to the piece. A superb and rare hand hammered sterling pin with a center carnelian by New York studio artist Sam Kramer. Three dimensional and sculptural, the center piece looks very much like a propeller. One almost expects it to twirl. This pin measures 2" diameter and is in fine condition with the exception of a slight bit of solder at the base of the pin stem. I have included a photo of the area. Dating from the interface of Arts & Crafts with Modernism (circa 1930 - 1950), this stunning handmade sterling ring from a European collection would look equally appropriate on a man or a woman. It's a whopper, for sure. The royal purple stone, a huge faceted oval bezel-set and open at the back, measures nearly 3/4" tall!
