Highly dimensional and rich with repousse work, this antique brooch is certainly hand-made - and almost as lovely on the reverse as on the front. Its T hinge, even more than the open C clasp, tells us we're looking at a *really* old one. Based on those details of fabrication and the restrained scale, probable dating is circa 1870 or older.
