This is a delightful painting of a summertime French or English landscape with figures and animals. A flock of sheep head up the trail being herded by a dog, while a young boy trails his fingers in the water of stream. You can see an adult working in the field in the middle ground, bright fields of wheat and blue skies behind him. Everything we wish summer was! The size as framed is 24" by 28". Offered here is a most appealing abstract of a cafe table with flowers and fruit. The colors are fresh and vibrant, the style loose and lively. I believe it is painted in oils but I could be wrong...it may be acrylic paint. The painting is signed m.sonners, possibly sommers. It is framed and matted and is under glass. As framed, it is 19" by 16". The sight dimensions are 9.75" by 7.5". It has not been examined outside of the frame. This is a most attractive and decorative piece. (Please ... Click for details

In the painting there are wonderful tall trees, a river or large lake, and figures cavorting around the base of the trees. The painting may be allegorical. Masonite was invented in 1924, so I'm placing the painting around 1930 or so. It is not signed and I do not know the origin (I'm guessing European). It is not framed. The size is 36" by 28". It is in ... Click for details
