This is a handsome oil on board, probably dating to the early 20th century, although the painting has an earlier look. It is framed in a new 2" frame. It looks like a European property and the figures are in 19th century dress. The horses are very well painted, and it is an attractive painting throughout. The size is 18" by 24", not including the frame. The painting is signed, but it is not legible (see the last enlargement).

Wonderful late 19th, early 20th century oil on linen of a Foxes Mask, unsigned although it could be signed under the mount, miniature, framed and glazed, Mint Condition.
Picture measures 6 3/4 inches x 6 3/4 inches, to mount 2 3/4 inches dia. approx.
Quality piece of Sporting art Circa 1920s 30s Art Deco Period
Very good condition.

A pair of early 19th Century oil paintings on board of a man and his wife. I estimate that these were painted in the 1830s or 1840s as the wife died in 1850. The gentleman is very well done. His wife, however, does show signs of overpainting and repair. The frames are not original to the pieces. The history of this man and woman is related on the back. This is such a lovely little painting and I lusted after it every time I went to a favorite place in South Florida. I finally bought it on my last trip, and I'm happy to have it in my shop and in my catalog. The painting is done by O. Levine, whom I have not been able to find in my reference books. It is painted on copper and is a still life of fruits and wine laid out on a table cloth. It is very well painted in realist style. The frame is new (I may yet change it), but suits the painting ... This is an interesting subject for a painting. A fellow with, what looks like, a halloween painted face, has fallen on the ice and spilled the contents of his basket on the ground. He looks none the worse for wear after his spill, in fact seems to be having a jolly good time. You can see another figure in the background that has fallen on the ice.
