A vibrant still life of peaches on a green stool by Peter Petronzio. This artist was collected by the noted art connoiseur Nelson Goodman. Quoting the internet memorial for Goodman, "..hanging on opposite walls an important Flemish Old Master by Jan Van Kessel and an exquisite naïve work by an unknown Twentieth Century Italian immigrant farmer, Peter Petronzio". This is a pair of perfectly charming English houses in watercolor. One is a vine covered thatched cottage with gothic windows down and in the dormers, and a conservatory. The other is of classical design, set among trees, and bears the title, Petit Menage, Jersey. They are crisply rendered, one in particular having an architectural quality to it as though it might have been done as an elevation.
