Offered here is a beautiful terra cotta sculpture of a Madonna head, early, possibly 18th century. Much of the paint remains, as do the original glass eyes. You can see in the pictures where there has been some deterioration that was later stabilized, and it all feels pretty solid now. She is really very lovely. Her head tilts slightly to the left in a graceful pose, and she has not quite a smile on her face. Her eyes look at something we don't see. This is a calm piece. It has a calming ...
