Vintage Japanese sudare, traditional bamboo and silk window shades. Sudare are commonly used from spring to autumn to shade sunlight, and are easily rolled up and held with decorative hooks. Dyed horse hair tassels accent the screens. The sudare are crafted from thin bamboo slats, with gold stitched silk borders. These shades originated from a Shinto temple in Western Japan.
