Offered here is a very interesting decorative panel in the form of a highly carved architectural piece of ancient wood. Incredibly it is a composition piece mounted to a piece of wood. It is made to hang on the wall, although it is quite attractive on a stand as well. It is amazingly well done and the finish is 100% believable as the real thing. It has age, though it is difficult to say how much. I would estimate 30-40 years. The piece measures 19.5" by 15.5" and weighs about 6.5 pounds.

I love old terra cotta. I think the coloration of this piece is just wonderful. It is many different shades of buff, peach and gray with remnants of old white remaining on the front and sides...subtle and just beautiful. This piece (and I don't know the technical name for it) was part of a mantle, at the top of the part that flanks the fireplace. It is 10" high, 5" wide and 4" deep. It dates to around 1900.
