This is a nice little Ameca-Etzatlan style Jalisco figure of a woman. She has broad shoulders and high-seated breasts that are typical for this type of figure, with nice burnishing throughout. See Figure 11, page 96, of Townsend's "Ancient West Mexico" for a processional group of similar small figures of this type.

Moche Standing Figure (Pre Columbian)

This is a great little Moche figure with full mantle.

This figure is wearing a full mantle with bracelets and earplugs, as well as the traditional headdress. There are some colors remaining as well as some good deposits. The facial detail is good and the bracelets show fine detail. This piece is intact with no repairs.

Old Indian jewelry, man's cuff bracelet set with natural turquoise cabs in sterling silver. Look inside this old Navajo Indian silver bracelet and you will see the kind of stress fractures caused by hand working heavy ingot silver. These marks are not from hammering on an anvil which leaves texture. Ingot seems to be the most abused term for Indian jewelry this year! Old Green Turquoise and Silver Ring

A dainty Navajo Indian lady's ring set with two green natural turquoise stones from Nevada. Sterling silver is finely worked, note the tiny silver wire.

Hard to date this one but it came out of old pawn on the Navajo Reservation in the 1960s.

Outstanding Jamacoaque Figure

A fantastic Jamacoaque standing figure with absolutely beautiful colors remaining. You can see shades of orange, teal green, gold and brown. The fine incising on this figure really shows off the textile patterns that would have been in the clothing. The detail in the necklace and bracelets certainly shows the fine hand of the artist and you can even pick out the fingernails on the hand. This is a wonderful example.

Antique Maidu Indian Basket

A gem of a basket is this Maidu woven bowl, woven more than 100 years ago. Willow and redbud are coiled over a three rod willow foundation, 8 coils and 17 wefts per inch.

This gracefully shaped bowl is 5" diameter by 2 5/8" deep. Outstanding original condition! Great age patina.

Unique Moche Standing Figure

A very unique Moche figure with long hair braids and face tattoos. As you can see in the pictures, she has facial tattoos around the mouth and on her cheeks. She has a full length mantle with ornamental collar, bracelets and ear plugs, and her traditional headdress has fantastic color remaining. There are lines of color running down both arms and around the hem of the mantle, really showing off the detail that would have been in her clothing.
