Fantastic horsehair basket with the Tohono O'odham Indian Friendship design. Woven circa 1985 by Elizabeth Juan, this 6 1/4" diameter polychrome tray has 98 figures of men and women holding hands! A classic fret separates the bands of people and the rim is edged with clouds.

This horsehair basket is so finely woven we can't count the stitches, the coils are evenly spaced with 18 per inch. ... Click for details

Bees and butterflies are woven with horsehair in three colors on this 2 1/4" diameter basket by the Tohono O'odham Indians of Arizona.

16 coils per inch and the stitches are too close to count. Finely woven by Debra Juan circa 1980s.

Late 19th century willow and devils claw basketry bowl from the Western Apache Indians of Arizona.

Dimensions are 10" diameter by 3 1/4" deep, gracefully curved walls. Six coils and sixteen wefts per inch, the inside weave is smooth and even, the outside is rougher, showing her work surface.
