A fine Nazca vessel form Peru, ca. 300 - 700 AD. It is 6" high and depicts a connected pair of pepinillos, which are fruit in the melon family. Delicately painted in dark red and brown, over cream slip, with the characteristic bridge handle connecting the little spouts. One side has some pitting, caused by the high saltpeter content of the soil, but it displays beautifully.

An exceptional polychrome figural vessel from Jalisco, West Mexico, ca. 200 BC - 350 AD. It is 6-1/2" high and has a 5-1/2" diameter. This rare example has the facial features and arms attached as high relief appliqué work. The entire vessel is covered with a cream slip and decorated overall with orange serpent designs. This extends well into the interior of the vessel, as well as on the underside. Nicely burnished, good deposits. In excellent condition.

An unusual Mayan Chiefs bowl from El Salvador, ca. 600 - 800 AD. This deep vessel has a 7-3/4" diameter and features three ornately attired chiefs, seated in the offering position, presenting gold objects as a sacrifice. They are painted in far greater detail than the best of regular Copador bowls, indicating the important social status of its owner. The figures are separated by small glyph panels. An adorable puppy effigy from Jalisco, West Mexico, ca. 200 BC 350 AD. This little cutie is 5-3/4" long, stretched out on his belly, has a wonderful facial expression and a protruding tongue. Nicely burnished, intact. A wonderful example of this type of canine effigy.

A superb Mayan effigy cylinder vessel from Honduras, ca. 600 - 800 AD. It is 6-3/4" high, has a 6" diameter, its primary feature is a protruding grim-faced deity head, molded in high relief. Two deeply incised glyph bands are formed at the top and bottom of the cylinder, with smaller molded panels ringing the center. Brightly painted in orange. Intact, with good deposits and just a few hairline stress cracks.

A fine Maya Monkey Bowl from El Salvador, ca. 600 - 800 AD. It has a 7" diameter and features three lively monkeys playing with balls, each with speaking scroll emanating from its mouth. An elaborate rim band consists of a series of feline head glyphs, separated by numerical signs. The interior is decorated with pseudo-glyphs around concentric circles. Intact, with strong paint, good deposits and root marks.
