An amazing Inca vessel from Peru, ca. 1200 - 1532 AD. It is in the shape of a star, with each point also formed into the shape of a face wearing a red nose ring. The facial features are merged, so that each shares an eye with another. Painted overall in orange, with red accents. One point reattached, else in fine condition with the expected wear. A rare and unusual example.

An exceptionally large seated male Colima figure from Western Mexico, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. This hollow figure is 14-1/2" tall, posed with his arms resting on the legs. Nicely adorned with a headdress and large ear ornaments, which are enhanced with white pigment. Overall in great condition, with paint remnants, good manganese deposits and only a minor repair.

A fine 6-3/4" high Moche II "Small Man" vessel from Peru, ca. 100 – 200 AD. With this unusual type, the artist took the common Moche head and added diminutive legs to it, perhaps to represent a dwarf. The nicely molded facial features are enhanced by paint, including design elements most likely representing tears. Intact.

An exceptional Early Paracas bowl, ca. 650 BC, from Southern Peru, probably Chiquerillo. The vessel has a 6-1/2” diameter and is 3-1/4” high. It features the classic motif of the frontal feline mask, showing the late Chavinoid characteristics of the eyes and mouth, which exhibits overlapping fangs. This incised and painted feline is flanked by two panels, each consisting of geometric designs. An exceptional Calima alcarazza (Yotoco phase) from the Valle Del Cauca, Colombia, ca. 300 - 1300 AD. This rare, 5-1/4" high vessel combines phalliform, mammiform and phytomorphic elements to create a composite symbolism connoting fertility. The highly burnished red slip is decorated with wonderful black resist designs. An outstanding example of incredibly delicate workmanship.
