An exceptional Early Paracas bowl, ca. 650 BC, from Southern Peru, probably Chiquerillo. The vessel has a 6-1/2” diameter and is 3-1/4” high. It features the classic motif of the frontal feline mask, showing the late Chavinoid characteristics of the eyes and mouth, which exhibits overlapping fangs. This incised and painted feline is flanked by two panels, each consisting of geometric designs. An exceptional Calima alcarazza (Yotoco phase) from the Valle Del Cauca, Colombia, ca. 300 - 1300 AD. This rare, 5-1/4" high vessel combines phalliform, mammiform and phytomorphic elements to create a composite symbolism connoting fertility. The highly burnished red slip is decorated with wonderful black resist designs. An outstanding example of incredibly delicate workmanship.

An exceptional figural vessel from the Capuli cultural complex, Highland Narino region of Colombia, ca. 850 - 1500 AD. The figure is wrapped around the rim of this 8-1/2" long bowl and is elaborately adorned with negative resist decoration, done in black over red slip. Nice little detailed touches, such as miniscule nostrils and protruding feet show off the advanced artistic skills. This is a rare, cultural significant piece. A great Moche III carved vessel from Peru, ca. 1 - 200 AD. This spouted stirrup vessel is 7-1/2" high and has a 6" diameter. It features two scenes of the God Ai Apaec, portrayed seated, with a winged creature on his head. He is blowing a shell trumpet and is confronted by a mythical creature. Nice paint, great details, intact. An exceptional example.

An exceptional Chancay Chuchimilco figure from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1400 AD. She is 9-1/2" tall, posed standing, with palms facing forward. Exquisitely painted with extensive criss-cross tattoo designs and clothing. This is one the very rare 3 color figures, in excellent condition, with only minor surface and edge deterioration usually found on Chancay figures.

An exceptional Moche I Crustacean vessel from Peru, ca. 300 - 100 BC. It is 7-1/2" high and has a 6-1/2" diameter. There are two nicely molded shrimp on top of this unusual two-tiered stirrup vessel. Beautifully painted in red and cream. A small crack underneath was professionally repaired and is barely visible. An exceptional example of early Moche ceramic art.
