A very attractive hand modelled pottery figure of a pig or hedgehog.
The body is decorated with circular pricked decoration to denote fur. The head is rendered with round ears and a long snout marked impressed with nostrils and mouth.
Roman, c. 1st Century AD
Front right leg restored.

An unusual painted pottery aryballos type vessel from the Ionian Islands.
The vessel is painted to the body with two simple horizontal bands and the foot and lip are also painted with a further plain band each. The rim is shaped with a very fine overhanging collar.
An interesting example of an otherwise ordinary Corinthian shape being copied and refined by another Greek state.
Vessels of this shape were used for the storage and transportation of oils.

An elegant pottery lekythos type vessel decorated to the front with a head in profile framed by palmettes to either side.
The profile head is painted in the South Italian Red figure technique and wears a decorated hat and also a necklace. The figure's hair is showing from under the hat around the ear area. Above the head a row of painted rays adorns the neck of the vessel.
Greek, South Italian Colonies, probably Apulia, 4th Century BC.
Intact, surface worn. Rim chipped.

An Athenian black figure pottery lekythos decorated with a charioteer being drawn by a team of horses. The charioteer's clothes are highlighted in white.
The rim and lower part of the vessel is glazed black and the shoulder is decorated with two bands of radiating strokes.
It is thought that these lekythoi were associated with horse races and awarded as prizes, presumably containing valuable oils.
Intact save for a repair on the rim, a little worn in places.

A rare Clazomenian terracotta fragment, probably from a sarcophagus, decorated with painted detail. One side is painted in dark red with an interlocking rope-twist pattern below palmettes. There are traces of a "Greek Key" pattern to another side.
Clazomenae was a Greek colony located on the Western coastline of modern Turkey. This type of large terracotta pottery is unique to the area.

A Greek painted pottery lekanis with lid, decorated with "Ladies of Fashion".
The lid is painted with four confronting female heads, arranged as two pairs of confronting profiles. Each head has a bag-shaped hair-arrangement framed by two bands or diadems. A triple-drop earring is also depicted on each portrait. The lower part of the lid is painted with black dots. The lower portion of the lekanis is glazed black, except for a band of stylised olive branches to either side.
