An attractive pale but bright blue glass vessel.
The heavy squat conical base is set with a tapering neck which in turn is completed by a funnel-shaped folded rim.
Roman, c. 2nd Century AD
Intact except for a very small ancient crack or firing fault in the rim.

Roman, Central Italy, 1st Century AD.
Repaired from several pieces with an area of loss to the tondo (filled by a crude restoration using different pottery fragments).

A very finely moulded unglazed pottery oil lamp.
The tondo is decorated with a rosette which is bordered by an elaborate olive wreath.
Signed (sgraffito) to the base: RESTITVTI
Roman, North African colonies, 2nd or 3rd Century AD.
Size: 12.5 x 9.3 cms
Nozzle and handle chipped, otherwise in very good condition with unusually fine modelling.
Ex. Rambaut Collection, France. Acquired 1950's.

A superb quality glazed and moulded pottery oil lamp.
The tondo is decorated with a profile portrait of Hercules who wears the Nemean lion skin over his head and shoulders (the paws of the lion skin are tied in a knot across his chest). Hercules is shown with a powerful forehead (an artistic style conceived by the Greek sculptor Skopas to add the image of strength to a figure) and deeply incised cheeks to define a rugged beard.
The lamp is moulded with a wide volute spout.

A large red slip ware decorated pottery oil lamp.
The tondo is decorated with a moulded appliqué in the form of a Roman ship or galley above three filling holes. The ship is depicted with full sails, a tall bow and a large number of oars which descend below the waterline.
The base is signed indistinctly.
Depictions of Roman ships are not common.
Roman North Africa, circa 4th or 5th Century AD.
Intact though eroded a little in places..

An assortment of green and blue glass beads interspersed by large hemispherical or shield-shaped gold bosses to form a beautiful and wearable bracelet.
Roman, 1st to 3rd Century AD.
Intact. The gold is a little bit delicate but fine for occasional use. The bar and loop fittings are modern.
Size: 19.5 cms unfolded. The gold bosses measure approximately 1.5 cms diameter each.
