Chinese porcelain shallow dish / plate finely decorated in bright famille rose enamels with a bouquet within a peuce and rouge de fer/gilt border.

Dating from the mid C18th., it measures 9 inches (22.9 cms) across.

A FINE CHINESE VASE, REPUBLIC ERA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY.

Beautifully painted in grey, red and sepia with a rustic scene of peasants returning from the fields, a comical water buffalo leading them home. The porcelain is fine and white, within the neatly finished foot-rim is a six-character Qianlong mark in iron-red.

A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE VASE WITH A RARE MARK, REPUBLIC ERA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY.

The vase is in the style of an ancient wine vessel more popularly known as a ‘ku’. It is beautifully decorated with famille rose enamels on a pure white porcelain body. Within the foot-rim is found the mark ‘Juren Tang zhi’ in iron-red enamel.

An attractive Chinese silver vase with detachable stand. It is decorated to one side wide 2 chickens with fence and flowers. The other side has a blank (unused) cartouche with dragon-scale border. The wooden base is attached and can be unscrewed.The vase is marked in Chinese characters to the base.

A good Chinese famille rose porcelain tea bowl and saucer.

Dating from the 2nd half of the C18th., the cup measures 3 1/2inches (8.9 cms) across and the saucer 5 1/2inches (13.9 cms) across.

The cup has a minute frit to the rim and a bruise to the footrim.The saucer has 2 faint hairlines. The condition is, otherwise, good.

A Chinese porcelain bowl, originally decorated in underglaze blue, and enamelled in red in Europe (clobbered).

Dating from the late C17th / C18th., it measures 4 1/4inches (10.8 cms) across.

There is an extended firing fault to the base and some surface scratching to the interior. It is in otherwise good condition.

A Chinese porcelain bowl of ogee form decorated in famille rose enamels with a mandarin duck, a pheasant, a crane and magpies in waterside foliage. There is a painted 6 character Tongzhi to the base.

Dating from the Tongzhi period (1862-74), it measures 3 3/4inches (9.5 cms) across.

There is a faint hairline to the rim.

A Chinese scroll painted on silk with a landscape scene of two horses, executed in the style of Giuseppe Castiglione. Length: approx 53 in. (painted area: 40 in. x 11 in.).Early-mid 20th cent.

The scroll is a bit grubby with staining showing, especially on the reverse. The scroll is beginning to part from its hanger and needs reinforcement at the back at this point.

A bell-shaped pewter-clad Yixing teapot with jade handle, finial and spout, the red stoneware interior with a raised potter’s seal: Hua Xi Shu Wu, the exterior with a poetic inscription and scholar’s mark on one side and a prunus spray on the other. Height: 3 ¾ in.; length: 5 ¼ in. Daoguang (1821-50).
