A chinese porcelain custard cup decorated in blue enamel and gilt with a wreath, presumably for later decoration with a monogram or armorial device. It has cross-over strap handles. It would originally had a lid

Dating from c.1800, it stands 2 1/4inches high.

There is a faint 1/2inch hairline from the rim and wear to the gilding.

The tray is decorated with formal lotus scroll, bats and shou characters on a turquoise ground. The base is unglazed. A former owner has made a wire hanger to display the tray; this has obviously led to its preservation.

A superb Chinese white jade belt buckle, probably Qianlong. The buckle formed as a dragon with a pearl of wisdom within writhing clouds of smoke on his back, his tail formed as a phoenix looking back at the pearl. The phoenix wings are engraved below the pearl so the buckle is in reality a composite animal, a mixture of dragon and phoenix. A good Chinese porcelain bottle in the form of one of the Eight Immortals, Li T’ieh-kuai, carrying a gourd one his back, thus forming the opening. A bottle of the same subject is illustrated in the Bob C. Stevens book. The bottle has much charm.

A Chinese ruby glass facetted snuff bottle of rich colour. This category of bottle is associated with the Imperial workshop though this example I feel is not fashioned well enough to be given an Imperial attribution. The mouth rim is slightly dished. 19th century.

Just a tad over 2 inches (5cm) high. A minuscule fleabite can be seen on the mouth rim, otherwise perfect condition. No stopper. ... Click for details
