This is a rare Korean Choson dynasty (AD 1392 - 1910), 18th/19th century white glazed bevelled jar. It is covered overall in a white glaze inside and outside. The base was stuck with kiln grits. White was the sacred colour of Korea during the 19th century and so white glazed wares like this jar were the official wares of Korea at that time. A rare Korean mother-of-pearl inlaid mirror box of rectangular form, the cover lifting to reveal a mirror set above a drawer, decorated on the exterior with floral and diaper inlay with auspicious characters on a black lacquer ground. Brass fittings. Dimensions: 10 ¼ x 7 x 4 ¾ in. Choson dynasty, 19th century.Inlay losses as shown and some loss of silvering on the mirror.

We found this beautifully grained, partially hollowed tree trunk in Korea, where it was used to pound rice. With the addition of a glass top, it has been transformed into a table with lots of charm and a story to tell. Age is difficult to establish on such an item but we were told, and the amount of wear corroborates, that this tree trunk became a rice pounding table sometime during the late 19th century. Only known to connoisseurs of shuki, or sake vessels, is that Korean vessels are highly prized by collectors here in Japan. A rare celadon saucer dish, with foliated rim, decorated in the center with inlaid Twin Fish and covered overall to all over the body with olive green glaze, three spurs mark on base. Please see to similar form at the book "Gems of Koryo Ceramics Ware" published by Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka 1996, page 16, item 46 with 10.7 cm and with inlaid flower design. Koryo dynasty the second half of 12th century. Perfect condition, no chips, no crack and no restoration. Diameter: 10.2 cm.

A rare sample of Koryo celadon bowl, in rounded form and covered overall with olive green glaze to all over the body to the base with three spurs mark.Skillfully assimilating the essence of Song ceramics of "Ju" and "Yue" ware, it gave birth to a unique Koryo beauty in techniques and vessel forms.
Koryo dynasty, first half of the 12th century.
Condition: damaged with glued repaired, small missing pieces liked indicated at the visuals and painted with gilt. Diameter: 15 cm and High: 7.5 cm.
