A very difficult design to find, Margot de Taxco's no 5384 is sheer geometry and a celebration of dark, rich oxidation. It is understandable then that I feel fortunate to have come upon the extra-wide hinged bracelet from the parure. Raised sterling bands around the perimeter of the cut-out design lend three-dimensional appeal which is further accentuated by the black surfaces they define...

Early William Spratling 980 silver bracelet with the marks dating it 1933-40. Spratling hallmarks can be reviewed on the website www.spratlingsilver.com. Classic, recognizable Spratling design, this bracelet has a pin closure and measures 6 3/4" end to end and is 7/8" wide. A troop of Shishi lion dogs sewn with couched gold thread. frolic among the blossoms and crashing falls embroidered on the re-purposed rich blue patterned Edo period silk of this altar cloth. The original form was likely an uchikake kimono, assembled as an altar drape as a tribute to the owner at a Buddhist Temple. A Pair of Chinese Sui Dynasty Glazed Pottery Ladies with Oxford TL Test
This wonderful pair of ladies was made during the Sui Dynasty (AD 581 - 618). They are made from a creamy-white pottery and coated in an attractive pale yellow/straw glaze that is finely-crackled. Note the detail to the clothing, the hairstyle and especially the faces: exquisite !
