Versatile necklace of crescent shaped rosewood and thick inlaid sterling silver with a heavy sterling link chain. Designed and signed (1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Of very large size (25") and heavy (13 pounds each), these bronze pricket candlesticks are Japanese in origin, late Meiji, and are signed with an etched mark on the bottom of each. This vase has splayed foot, a bulbous body, a straight neck and a deepply foliated mouth with everted lip. The main body of the piece is decorated with a densely moulded floral design. Incised around the neck are stylised plantain leaves, a motive which becomes integral to the decorative sryle of qingbai. Today we have a rare William Spratling tulip necklace that is approximately 17in. long. The drop is 2 in. tall and the amethyst tulips are a lilac in color and with striations of crystals inside the well cut stones. The neck chain is 4 strands of tube beads which lead to the turtle clasp that hooks off and on to get in and out of the necklace. The condition is excellent with no dents or damage and this treasure has been professionally re-strung as 70 years of age had broken the strands...

Contemporary sterling silver, jade, ebony and 22K gold box designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Wolmar Castillo. A talented designer in his own right Wolmar is the son of Antonio Castillo of Los Castillo. Box measures 5" tall. The base measures 6 1/2" X 4 1/2".
