One of the best repousse figural brooches I have had over the years this is an early, stunning bird studded with blue and greenish blue turquoise cabochons. The repoussage is definitely the work of somebody who mastered the art - bold, deep, with excellent detail that has been accentuated with time by warmly glowing patina. If you have to portray a peacock, it better look like this one here! The brooch measures 4 1/8" tall by 1 7/8" wide (at its widest)...

Rare hand wrought sterling silver, inlaid jasper & azurmalachite stone arrows belt buckle designed and signed (c.1949-52)by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. Buckle measures 2" X 1 1/4" X 3/8". Will fit up to a 1 1/8" strap. Weight-37grams, 1.3oz. Buckle carries the SPRATLING DE MEXICO mark with eagle 13 which dates the piece to Spratling's Alaskan period.
