At first glance this appears to simply be a large image of a burning tree, however, look again and find the tree like figure is in the from of two entwined lovers, flames leaping from their impassioned bodies. This was likely made as an exhibition work, as it certainly would be difficult to fit into even a large Japanese home. The piece is signed Yoneda Mio, (Yoneda Mionosuke), and likely dates from the 1930s...

Japanese TAISHO Period carved wooden RANMA of dragon. The dragon is beautifully carved in high relief and with great detail. The back of the RANMA is also carved and has a rectangular placard with the inscription: TOKYO SHINTOMI-CHO, CHOUKOKU NIN, TAISHO SAN NEN NI GATSU, GOTO SUKEYOSHI, which translated means, Shintomi Town of Tokyo, presently the Ginza area of Tokyo, February of the 3rd year of Taisho (1915), carved by Goto, Sukeyoshi. The RANMA measures about 79" long, 12" tall and 6" thick.

Description: It is a gilt-silver hat finial of an official of Qing dynasty. In Qing dynasty, the official uniform was strictly regulated including the hat decoration. Hat finial was categorized formally from Younzhen reign(17th century) as 9 classes. Gold tip(gilt) the sixth category were used by officials like county administrators. Description: A set of straw glazed QingBai cup and stand was preserved well. The cup was in six petals' floral shape and was crackled beautifully. The stand was in perfect condition with obvious excavation evidences. They were not an original set but were originated from the same date and were perfectly matched. Date: Song Dynasty (12th century) Set Height: 7cm, Cup Height: 4cm Width: 8.8cm, Stand Height: 4cm Width: 9cm

A superb modernist design 970 silver belt buckle by Antonio Pineda. Sleek and sophisticated, there is a slight gold wash on the triangular shaped center piece and a line and dot of black enamel. It measures 2 1/8" by 1 1/8" at the widest part. The weight is 33 grams and it is signed for Antonio Pineda as shown. Very 1950's and very wonderful.

Wonderful Dorothy Bauer brooch! This little turtle has personality!. Beautiful prong set blue and green rhinestones making a charming design on the turtle's back. The brooch is very three dimenional being 1 1/8" thick from top of shell down. He is 2 3/4" nose to tail and 1 1/2" flipper to flipper.
