Of very large size (25") and heavy (13 pounds each), these bronze pricket candlesticks are Japanese in origin, late Meiji, and are signed with an etched mark on the bottom of each. They both have a very deep and rich patina, very dark brown, with no abrasions or dents. The top lotus form cups are separate, and slip tightly into the stem of the sticks...

This vase has splayed foot, a bulbous body, a straight neck and a deepply foliated mouth with everted lip. The main body of the piece is decorated with a densely moulded floral design. Incised around the neck are stylised plantain leaves, a motive which becomes integral to the decorative sryle of qingbai. Today we have a rare William Spratling tulip necklace that is approximately 17in. long. The drop is 2 in. tall and the amethyst tulips are a lilac in color and with striations of crystals inside the well cut stones. The neck chain is 4 strands of tube beads which lead to the turtle clasp that hooks off and on to get in and out of the necklace. The condition is excellent with no dents or damage and this treasure has been professionally re-strung as 70 years of age had broken the strands...

Contemporary sterling silver, jade, ebony and 22K gold box designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Wolmar Castillo. A talented designer in his own right Wolmar is the son of Antonio Castillo of Los Castillo. Box measures 5" tall. The base measures 6 1/2" X 4 1/2". Standing on a rock above deep water, the ground with auspicious emblems. Made of silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details. The background was probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days. Sewn together and lined with blue silk...

This elaborate silver Miao headband would be worn by a woman for festival. First a piece of fabric would be tied around the womans head to protect her from the sharp edges of the metal. The headband would make a soft pleasing sound as the woman moved her head. The man on horseback and flowers are a reference to the Miao myth of bringing light into the world. The headband is approx 20 inches long.
