This is a very nice wood fired studio pottery bowl by well known Seagrove, NC potter Ben Owen III. It is glazed in a wood fired shino variation that Ben refers to as copper penny. It was fired in Ben's pappagama kiln. The bowl has a combed texture and and nice variation, crystal growth and ash deposits in the glaze from the wood firing. The bowl is signed Ben Owen III. It measures approximately 7.5" in diameter and 4.5" tall and is in excellent condition.
