Talented Oaxacan artisan Angel Vasquez has created this handsome Atlantic Puffin. It is a departure from other folkart in its finish, which has a highly polished look. This beautiful green iguana has been created by husband and wife Mario and Reina Castellanos, well-know Oaxacan artisans. Its back has a geometric design of black and purple, edged in red. The mid-body has an orange and turquoise pattern, and the legs have purple accents. The tail is beautifully curved and the body delicately carved. In the Asian zodiac, the rooster corresponds with the current year 2005, in a 12-year cycle. Miharu-machi (town) is located just NW of Koriyama City in central Fukushima Prefecture.
