This rare hand-woven Ikat from Sumba Island is dated over 40 years old and in excellent condition with the exception of two small holes. This wonderfully detailed Navajo pictorial weaving dimensions 21 ½ inches by 28 inches which makes it perfect for a wall hanging was purchased about five years ago in Gallup, New Mexico. When purchased, the tag read E. Benally, a common Navajo name, and the dealers specialized in direct dealings with Navajo families. This was a long-standing trading family, not a new import company. They said she was one of their best weavers and her pieces sold as quickly as they got them in, which wasn't often... Click for details

This little weaving is in mint condition, no holes or stains or missing fringe. And the colors are wonderful. The blue is not a navy or a turquoise but a teal kind of azure blue...different but beautiful. It sets off the other colors perfectly.
It's perfect on a tabletop, as a little wall hanging or even thrown over the back of a chair. These were woven along with coats, vests, purses and other items and have become quite collectible because they are always well done. They are not Navajo we... Click for details
