Mashiko-ware yunomi (tea cup),new. This is a kata (mold) made yunomi, refered to in the local Mashiko dialect as a "mambo" yunomi. It has been a standard production item in Mashiko for many years. A very serene Yuteki temmoku chawan by the famous Taniguchi Ryozo. Taniguchi, along with Miura Shurei, Kimura Moriyasu and Morikazu and Kamada Koji are famous proponents of the "oilspot" field.
This chawan is an excellent example of Taniguchi's work and masterful control of his glazes...
A very large (oburi) and powerful Shino chawan by Miyamura Yoshinobu very reminiscent of Hayashi Shotaro's works. Thick splashes of pure white Shino glaze punctuate the rusty red Aka-Shino glaze which covers the entire teabowl.
This chawan measures 5.4" X 4" and is in perfect condition and comes with it's signed box.
